Sustainability is a core value of school life and a practice and responsibility shared daily by the entire educational community. This is clearly evident in the vegetable and garden maintenance tasks which students share, which instill values such as ecology, discipline and responsibility.
The culture of respect for the environment is ever-present, from the way of thinking, building and maintaining buildings, to the day-to-day running and operation. The use of clean energy, through solar and photovoltaic panels, the rainwater irrigation system for the vegetable patch, the wind turbine, the separation of waste and the composting plant of organic waste are good examples. This way of understanding and living sustainability helps to foster values such as responsible consumption and personal austerity.
The school building has been awarded the highest possible rating in terms of sustainability and the school is part of the Green Schools Network.
