Chess strengthens its educational role with a season full of success

Chess continues to gain prominence within the educational project of Socrates Educa International School, becoming a pedagogical tool that goes far beyond the chessboard. During the 2025-2026 academic year, the school strengthened its commitment to chess through both its extracurricular program and its integration into the curriculum, fostering skills such as concentration, strategic thinking, decision-making, and emotional management.

This commitment to chess will continue to grow next year. Looking ahead to the 2026-2027 academic year, the school will launch a new young talent identification program in Early Years and Primary Education, with the aim of further promoting students’ personal and academic development from the earliest stages of education.

The results achieved this season reflect the success of this educational commitment. The Secondary School team was crowned 2026 Catalonia Schools Team Champion, while the Under-10 Primary School team secured the runner-up position in its category. In addition, four Socrates Educa students were awarded individual gold medals at the 2026 Catalonia Schools Team Championship.

Extracurricular activities have also played a significant role. A dozen students took part in the IV Catalan Online Chess League 2025-2026, successfully becoming champions thanks to their talent and perseverance.

These achievements are complemented by the excellent results obtained at the 2025-2026 School Olympics, where two students from the school earned the titles of overall champion and overall runner-up.

Beyond trophies and awards, these results highlight fundamental values such as effort, discipline, respect, and teamwork—values that define the educational spirit of Socrates Educa.

Congratulations to all the students, families, and teaching staff for continuing to grow this project with such passion and dedication!
