The Socrates Educa International School of Salou was the setting last Friday June 14th, for the Socrates Educa Foundation's 10th Solidarity Night awards and scholarships ceremony. The aim of the evening is to raise funds to support families who may need it in order to provide an inclusive international education.
The Fruselva Scholarship in the STEAM field for a student in Science,Technology and Mathematics went to Ainhoa Ugalde Salva, ESO4. The Socrates Educa Humanities Award (supported by the SEF itself) for a student in the Humanities went to Nadia Messaglio, from ESO1. The Joan Gumà Excellence Scholarship was awarded to Vera Fernández Ortega from BAT.
The Socrates Educa Awards for Teaching Excellence (supported by the SEF itself) aim to promote and recognise the excellence of teaching in the school, focusing on educational innovation, the development of the Socrates Educa project and the application of the 4 pillars of the school, which are internationality, the appropriate use of technologies, sustainability and community service. The Socrates Educa Award for Teaching Excellence in the Humanities field was awarded to Màrius Folch, teacher of Language and Literature. The Socrates Educa Award for Teaching Excellence in Scientce, Technology and Mathematics (STEM) went to Carlos Bolaños, teacher of Mathematics.
A decade of service to the school
SEIS then paid tribute to the teachers who have been working in the school for ten years. These teachers started at the beginning of the project and form the basis on which the entire teaching staff has grown.
The Solidarity Night is a charity night held at the end of every school year to support students who need help for various reasons. This year, a total of 6 scholarships and awards were presented, celebrating the Socrates Educa Foundation's commitment to education. The Foundation also provides partial scholarships anonymously during the school year and offers occasional assistance to students and families in need.
