pre school
Pre School day
n the Pre School area, we have started the school year with
Imotivation, joy and strength. It is a key stage for the development
of our students, in which they begin an endless journey of activities
and social relations that will help and support them during the rest of
their school years.
Pre School Team
Active learning in Pre School is based on learning through
experimentation and manipulation. From stories, which motivate the
students, we learn all the necessary concepts in our stage, relating the
story with other subjects like art, mathematics and languages. In this
way we work on autonomy, vocabulary, social relations, values and
much more.
All classes from P1 through to P5 are currently working on theme books.
This includes activities that encourage further growth and develops
their interests.
Currently each class is working on:
P1 - Pippa the Pumpkin Fairy
A story that has helped the little ones to learn new vocabulary related to
autumn. The little ones have learned the words: fairy, pumpkin, owl and
hedgehog. They have also decorated their classroom using methods
such as; painting, sticking and tearing.
P2 - Room and The Broom
We have learned a lot of new vocabulary and introduced logical-
mathematical activities. The classroom is decorated with characters
from the book such as a dog, cat, witch, broom, frog, hat and dragon.
P3 - Goldilocks and the three Bears
We have worked on the vocabulary and also introduced different
mathematical activities such as the quantity of numbers, the order
from big to small. The students have decorated their classroom with the
characters of the story.
P4 – Here we go digging for dinosaur bones
They are currently learning about dinosaurs such as where they lived,
what they ate, their body parts and how many different types there were.
With this topic the children have all made an individual booklet to take
home including a craft. The children have all taken part in decorating the
classroom. This week a giant dinosaur egg made by the children finally
hatched.
P5 – I like Myself / I can do it Myself
A story that helps students to value themselves and see their peers with
respect. One of the activities was to draw yourself and then draw our
partner, exploring how we see ourselves and how we see our others.
These activities has allowed us to introduce the main organs of our body
and the senses (taste, smell, touch, hear and look).
