Mentoring activities

uring Literary Week, there have been lots of activities
Dgoing on Primary. However, the most enriching activities
are the mentoring ones. We group our students taking into
consideration the different age groups they are in and we mix
them up, and the main aim is to help each other to do different
activities.

Mr Ferré
When doing mentoring activities, it can be seen how the older
students look after the younger ones. Plus, it can be easily
noticed how the older ones take responsibilities and lead the
activities when they are with younger students. In contrast,
if we observe the younger students, they love learning form
older students and they show themselves really motivated
and willing to learn everything from them. It is also amazing to
see how younger students stand out and they help the older
ones on some occasions too. In a way, both groups, the older
and the younger, are learning from each other.
We implement this type of activity all the time, but we did so
especially in Literary Week in order to promote reading for
pleasure. For this reason, we created amazing bookmarks with
recycled materials and we read to each other in our classes and
corridors.
In short, it was a very successful week, full of enriching activities,
lots of learning and with lots of reading. Our students loved all
the activities, especially the mentoring ones.
