Our students Damià Colet, Leire Ugalde and Clara Zaera and the teachers Roger Vallvè and Anna Margalef were nominated for the seventh
Bona Gent awards, an event which happens every January organised by the Diari de Tarragona.

These awards are intended for people and groups who have stood out throughout the year for various reasons, including their social commitment, their
sporting or scientific achievements, generosity, solidarity or professional excellence.
The students and teachers of the Socrates Educa International School Salou were nominated for their Utai project, which aims to clean polluted air by
installing moss, a highly purifying plant, underneath street benches. This initiative won the Audi Creativity Challenge, a sustainability ideas contest in
which 532 teams from all over Spain participated.

In this seventh annual event, readers entering the Diari de Tarragona website voted on nominees from 30 groups, 10 organisations and 20 individual
nominations. There were two categories, the collective and the individual.
Finally, the votes gave victory to four students from La Salle de Reus in the individual category, developing a school project against sexist violence.
In the group category, the prize went to the Club Bàsquet Vila-seca, which had just turned 40.

The awards were handed out at a gala at the Hotel Ciutat de Tarragona, with the presence of dignitaries including the mayors of local towns
and the Vice President of the Parlament de Catalunya, Anna Caula.

The School congratulates the winners and our students and teachers for their nomination, which have given name of Socrates Educa
International School a high profile with an important impact on Tarragona society.
