From 27 to 30 January 2026, the Model United Nations delegation of Socrates Educa International School travelled to Brussels to take part in MUN Brussels, one of Europe’s most prominent MUN conferences. The event brought together more than 600 students from across the continent to debate global issues within the General Assembly and the UNHCR committee.

Over four demanding days, with sessions running from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., students faced the challenge of negotiating, drafting resolutions, building diplomatic alliances, and defending their positions with rigour and confidence. The high level of competition, committees of more than 50 delegates, and the limited number of awards made this experience both academically and personally challenging.

Despite these demands, the delegation achieved outstanding results, reflecting their preparation, commitment, and teamwork:

Best Position Paper: Enric Folch Prim (China)

Distinguished Delegate: Fernando Muiño Vázquez (Luxembourg) and Ben Rubisch (Norway)

Honorable Mention: Danylo Bozhok (Morocco)

Outstanding Delegation: Socrates Educa International School

Beyond the awards, the dedication and engagement shown by every student in the group stood out. Representing a wide range of countries, the delegates demonstrated maturity, collaboration, and a genuine interest in global affairs.

Delegation members

UNHCR: Pol Grau Cabré (Singapore), Camille Pirotte (Lithuania), Enric Folch Prim (China), Fernando Muiño Vázquez (Luxembourg), Roland Ualikhanov (New Zealand), Ben Rubisch (Norway)

General Assembly: Álvaro Martínez Pont (Canada), Nikolay Eniseyskiy (India), Lluc Vallvé Fortuny (Netherlands), Joan Diego Marquès Cruz (Turkey), Ilie Timosco (Portugal), Danylo Bozhok (Morocco)

Participation in MUN Brussels 2026 proved to be an unforgettable experience of diplomacy, learning, and personal growth, reinforcing the value of such initiatives in shaping future global leaders.
