On March 15th Primary 5 & 6; ESO 1, 2 and 3; and in a last group, the ESO 4 and of Baccalaureate 1 & 2 participated in the PROVES CANGUR, 2018

The "PROVES CANGUR" is a mathematical activity promoted by the international society Le Kangourou sans Frontières to stimulate and motivate a large majority of the students in Catalonia promoted by the Catalan Society of Mathematics.

With an individual contest format, the goal of the CANGUR is that students participate and spend a special time enjoying themselves while solving the challenges proposed. The problems are based more on reasoning and ingenuity than on specific mathematical knowledge.

Primary 5 and 6

The test had 20 closed response problems, with three difficulty levels and five response options for each problem. They had to answer it in an hour.

ESO1, 2 and 3 / ESO 4 and Baccalaureate 1 and 2

The test had 30 closed response problems, with three difficulty levels and five response options for each problem. The time was one hour and a quarter.

As every year the EIC has been the headquarters of the PROVES CANGUR and this has enabled 36 students from the Ramon Barbat i Miracle Institute and 21 students from the Vila-seca Institute to be able to join us in this event that is part of the Week of Mathematics held at our center.

We would like to thank the teaching staff and the students of both institutes for their participation as well as our EIC Mathematics teachers: Miss Natàlia Linares, Miss Golnara Bosty, Miss Mª Carmen Ávila, Miss Lorena Gazzola and Mr Manel Franquet . To all of them and to the students of the EIC the warmest of the congratulations!
