EIC celebrates Halloween and Castanyada

EIC students celebrated Castanyada and Halloween last week.

As every year, all Primary students celebrated Halloween. Before that, each class prepared a game and on Monday October 30th in the afternoon, everybody, old and young, joined in the different games. Points earned in each game could be exchanged for sweets.

For the Castanyada, ESO 4 students were in charge of roasting chestnuts for the younger ones: they set up the fire, roasted the chestnuts and wrapped them in newspaper. They also organised a food and craft sale to raise funds for their end of year trip.

In Primary students cooked panellets and they learned about the tradition of Castanyada. They tasted the chestnuts and they also dressed up themselves as castanyeres.
